Mission Statement:

Mane Event seeks to form mutually beneficial partnerships with companies, professionals and organizations that seek the best in quality live entertainment from original new-music artists. We accomplish this by soliciting and representing a limited roster of truly accomplished quality artists, who are genuinely engaging, entertaining and, above all, dependable.

Further, Mane Event Productions strives for sympathetic relationships with singer-songwriters and artists who would employ the company to represent them. We accomplish this by demonstrating sincerity, winning trust, and advocating wholeheartedly on behalf of our clients - providing them with diverse and rewarding opportunities, which genuinely contribute to their growth and fulfillment as artists, and as people.

About:

Mane Event Productions has been promoting quality, heartfelt musical entertainment since 1988, and since 2000, the company has been promoting its new-music concert series, "the Theatre of the Local Hero" at venues and colleges in New York and Nashville. The company began supporting colleges and universities in 1989, first providing original new-music artists for campus Earth Day festivals, and later providing bands and artists for coffeehouses and campus concerts.

Local Hero concerts seek to promote and encourage original new-music artists in visited communities, placing them beside regional, national and international artists in quality settings, with quality support.

To ensure the best possible experience for patrons and performers, the company actively supports artist's rights and the legal use and distribution of musical compositions and recordings. Artists working with Mane Event are typically affiliated with one or more of the three U.S. performance rights organizations: BMI, ASCAP, and/or SESAC.

Additionally, Mane Event routinely supports worthwhile causes, and a few times each year the company is available to non-profit organizations for benefit concerts. The company’s principals have been regular supporters of the Special Olympics since 1989.

Studio: The Mane Event project-recording studio in the Catskills was opened to the public in 1995, and in 1999, Mane Event began partnering with artists to help promote recorded music and live concerts. The company has since produced, co-produced, and/or financed the recorded music and videos of many artists. In 2004, Mane Event opened a second office and studio in Nashville, TN.

Roots: Mane Event Productions was established in 1988 by Nanette P. Benoit and Robert E. DeGraw, Jr. The couple formed their band, "Pride", in the spring of 1988, and between ’88 and ’89 they provided sound reinforcement for several festivals and coffeehouses - adopting the name Mane Event Productions. Their love of live music inspired them to seek a larger role in the music community, and in subsequent years the company supported and established several new venues and continued to promote quality live entertainment.

In 1991, Mane Event promoted its first show, "A Concert for the Dinosaurs," which brought together various musicians and singer-songwriters for a concert set amidst full-scale animatronic dinosaurs. Patrons young-and-old received the show with great enthusiasm, and today the company continues to support and to promote live music - making great performances possible from the Catskills to Nashville, and a few points on either side.

Our Principals:

Robert E. DeGraw, Jr. studied the Recording Industry with emphasis in Production and Recording Technology - earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University with further emphasis in Music Business - concentrating on the Legal Problems of the Recording Industry, Music Publishing, A&R and Copyright Law. He completed studies in Architectural Design at the State University of New York, and he holds minors in Entertainment and Entrepreneurship.

Nanette P. Benoit is a self-taught musician, singer-songwriter, and a second violinist with the High Strung Chamber Orchestra. She studied French language in Paris, France and computer programming languages at the University of Massachusetts.

"When I am asked what Mane Event does, I find it hard to explain. I think that we're just professional fans and that we enjoy supporting the artists that we love, wholeheartedly. I think it's that simple, but it has led us to involve ourselves in so many things - coffeehouses, street teams, recordings, music videos... But, promoting live shows is still the most exciting thing that we do! ...to promote and support a great show with wonderful artists - to see audiences moved by words and music - brought to tears, to joy, and then wanting to take a piece of that home on a disc that we produced... that's a feeling like no other - a kind of vindication, which says that we're standing behind music that matters to people."

"On behalf of Nanette and myself, I’d like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the Artists, Buyers, Friends and Patrons that continue to support our events, and our ideals. We couldn't do it without you, and we look forward to serving the professional music community and to providing quality musical entertainment for many years to come."

Be good; be well,

Robert E. DeGraw, Jr.
